Basenji Art DetailAbout My Basenji Dog Art Model Ramses:

Ramses was extraordinary from day one. When we brought him home at just 9 weeks, "the girls" didn't want anything to do with him. They would curl up together and just watch this silly goose running and playing all by himself. Then he would run full blast and jump right on top of them. I thought for sure his hours were numbered.

He has the sweetest disposition! I have never met a kinder or more gentle dog. He is very vociferous, and loves to yodel at sirens and Mom when he thinks she have been gone for too long. His favorite yodel is to the ending song on "Cheers".

Chewies and cookies are his thing, and once when he ran out the front door when UPS was delivering, I was able to get him to stop by shouting "Milk Bone!"

He was "Mr. Destructo" when he was younger. Nothing was safe! If he had to be in the house while we were gone, I would remove the cushions from the couch. Now, he only pulls the stuffing from his own things. I replace his blanket before it gets down to just the material.

Basenji art was the beginning of Dog Art Dog. Ramses was my greatest inspiration for dog art, and the first pop art piece I ever created. His classic features are perfect for Basenji pop art, and this is still my favorite rendition of the Basenji.  "Stardom" hasn't gone to his head, as he still has time for the little people, like everyone he meets. Not a guard dog. Nope. But isn't a yodel better than a door bell? I think so.
